What can you expect from me?
Sometimes you don’t always know exactly what you want until you see it. That is my job! I am here to help you see what your landscape can be—with photo mock-ups, concept boards and computer drawings. Each step in the planning, design and presentation process allows the ideas and vision for your landscape to crystallize in your mind. Everything comes into clear view as we work together on your design and make your wishes a reality!
I always like to meet my clients in person for an initial consultation and walk through a client questionnaire to get started. I want to understand your goals and wishes, and how you plan to utilize and live in your outdoor landscape. We even exchange ideas on a digital idea board so I can see landscapes, gardens and plants that appeal to you.
STEP 01
Initial Consultation
We meet to discuss your goals, vision, expectations and budget for your project during the planning phase. I provide you with a client questionnaire to fill out prior to our initial consultation meeting, which allows me to get a better idea of the scope of your design along with your goals and vision.

STEP 02
Design Fee Estimate
After the initial consultation (STEP 01), I will provide an estimate for my fees for the design process.
This will include an outline of the design process.
Once the design fee estimate is approved, we can begin your landscape project.
STEP 03
Design Phase & Planning
Meet to review and clarify the scope of the project - including your goals, client questionnaire and any new information or developments.
On-site evaluation & survey - photos, measurements, site survey/base map
Review any HOA restrictions, easements, setbacks, power lines, etc.
Soil testing & analysis
Digital idea boards - share photos of homes/landscape ideas that you like
Creation of your customized landscape design
STEP 04
Landscape Design Presentation - Review & Finalize Design
Landscape design presentation and review - you will see your 2D digital design laid out on paper
Computer-drafted landscape design (CAD Drawings) - bird’s-eye view to scale
Presentation with photo mock-ups of recommended plants in place at mature size for visualization
“Image Boards” to further convey conceptual approaches, styles, themes, color palette and material recommendations
Following the presentation, any changes and/or additions will be made and reviewed before preparing the master plan estimate.

STEP 05
Master Plan Estimate
Upon approval of a landscape design, I provide a cost estimate to implement the design.
Includes all design, materials, plants, labor and installation
Estimates can be broken down into landscape areas or installation phases.
I can work with local installation firms to provide a full installation estimate. Of course, you are welcome to hire your own contractors or install the design yourself too.
Once the master plan estimate is approved, a date is scheduled for installation.
A deposit may be required to secure your installation date as well as order materials.
STEP 06
Plant & Materials Sourcing
Turnkey project management - confirm pricing and delivery of all materials from each vendor directly to your home (soil amendments, compost, mulch, plant material, hardscapes, etc.)
My goal is to secure the healthiest plants available from local nurseries that I trust and work with, followed by directing their placement when the contractors are ready to receive and install the plant material.
STEP 07
On-Site Installation
Work closely with your installation/construction contractors throughout the entire process to clearly communicate your vision and ensure the integrity of your approved design is achieved.
Work with your installation/construction contractors to ensure all plants are properly placed according to the approved design and using best planting practices to support root growth and development, soil and plant health, and prevent any transplant loss.
Of course, I can also work directly with homeowners to supply plant material and place the plants.
STEP 08
Post Installation
Provide you with a comprehensive plant inventory list including the botanical name, variety, size and quantities
Provide plant care and watering instructions
Available to answer questions and offer guidance before, during and after the installation
Happily drop by your home to check on your landscape and answer any questions
